A
War of Memories by Director Lee-Kil Bora of
School of Film, TV & Multimedia Is On Screen
A War of Memories directed by Lee-Kil Bora, an alumna of School of Film, TV & Multimedia, was released on February 27th, 2020.
This is the first film after 5 years of releasing Glittering Hands (2015), a documentary film that portrays the everyday life of herself and her parents with hearing impairment. A War of Memories was inspired by her grandfather’s memory of entering the Vietnam War as a commissioned officer in one of the toughest troops. Calling himself “a war veteran” with pride, her grandfather treasures the national medal and award certificate.
Director Lee-Kil, however, later learns the history of the massacre
of innocent people in Vietnam during the war by the Korean army. To find out
the truth between the two different memories, she heads towards Vietnam. A
War of Memories excavates the memories left out and hidden in a town only 20-minutes
away from Danang and unfolds it on screen.
