K-Arts held Press Conference with
its “Vision 2040” upon 30th Anniversary of foundation
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the K-Arts held a press conference on the Seokgwan campus on 25 October and presented the roadmap for the future. With the slogan for 2040, “Define your creative future!”, it presented three core values; “challenge & innovation”, “creative & convergence”, “inclusion & communication”. For this, President Kim Daejin addressed his plan to legislate the K-Arts Establishment Act from the current Presidential decree, initially enacted in 1992, to solve issues or disadvantages the students might face due to the current legal restrictions. Also President Kim further emphasized that K-Arts will engage more in exchange with higher arts education institutions worldwide by newly establishing doctoral degree, to provide a desirable platform for young talents from around the globe.
He had also expressed that K-Arts would facilitate the internal exchange
and collaboration among K-Arts six schools by accommodating them in one campus
that are currently divided into three campuses. This will enable K-Arts to
nurture future-oriented artistic talents by allowing them interdisciplinary and
convergent experiments among different majors. Besides, at the press
conference, renowned sopranos Hong Hyeran and Seo Sunyoung presented the duet
stage, and pansori singer Laure Mafo of the School of Korean Traditional Arts drew
the audience's attention with exceptional performance.
