KRECA Hosts the Spring Academic Symposium on SDGs and Arts Education

 

Korean National Research Center for the Arts Hosts an Academic Symposium on SDGs and Arts and Art Education


 

On 17 March, the Korean Natinoal Research Center for the Arts (KRECA) affiliated with the K-Arts held a spring academic symposium, “SDGs and Arts and Art Education” on- and offline.

 

Director Lee Jinwon of the KRECA, “Celebrating the 30th anniversary, our primary goal is to foster the ingenious artists, yet at the same time, I believe it’s also the time to ask ourselves a profound question about the social role of arts we are creating. Through this spring academic symposium, we aim to deal with how the arts in Korea can sustainably make accomplishments.”

 

The event consisted of 2 parts with involvements of experts in music, visual arts, and dance. The program was conducted by the schedule below:

 

        Part 1 –

 

(Music) Kye Hee-seng (Professor of HanyangUniversity), “Open Musicology Project to Achieve Korea-SDGs”

 

(Visual Arts) Kim Hyojung (Professor of Ewha Womans University), “A Case Study and the Direction on the Fine Art Education for the Sustainable Future”

 

(Dance) Yoo Hwajeong (Director of the Dance & Media Research), “A Report on Performing Arts related to the SDGs – Focused on the Categories and Issues”

 

(Discussion) Kim Jaehyeon (Emeritus Professor of K-Arts), Lee Euijeong (Reporter for Auditorium Monthly Magazine), Shim Hyo-yeong (Professor of the Faculty of the Game & VR Contents Design, Induk University), Park Hye-yun (Research Professor of the Seoul National University)

 

 

        Part 2 –

 

(Drama) Eo Kyoung-jun (Professor of School of Drama, K-Arts), “A Field Study for the Sustainable Stage Production”

 

(Film) Park Eunji (Full-time Researcher, Pusan National University), “The Era of Aging Cinephile: Inspection on Expanding the Sustainable Cineliteracy”
