School
of Visual Arts Creative Studio Presents the Outcome Exhibition of Its 10th
Artist-in-Residence, Black Hole Spaghetti
From Wednesday,
March 4 to Saturday, March 14, the K-Arts School of Visual Arts Creative Studio
will present Black Hole Spaghetti, the outcome exhibition of its 10th
Artist-in-Residence program, on the first floor of the K-Arts Library at the
Seokgwan Campus.
The term
“spaghettification” describes the stretching of matter caused by extreme
gravitational differentials generated by a black hole’s immense pull. As an
object draws nearer to the black hole, the tidal forces intensify, amplifying
the gravitational gradient and elongating the object into long, noodle-like
strands. This cosmic distortion serves as a metaphor for the exhibition's
exploration of entanglement and superposition in spacetime—a state where
remnants of relativity intermingle and coexist. Black Hole Spaghetti invites
viewers to immerse themselves within this shared moment of space and time,
attending closely to the intricate interplay of these entangled states.
Participating
artists include Lara Jehanno, Lia Maurer Morelli, Bae Han-sol, Song Ji-u, Ryu
Yae-rim, Lee Jin-hyung, Jee Sim, Choi A-mi, Hong Ja-young, and WHIWHI. On March
4, a workshop and performance program featuring audience participation will
take place, highlighting Jee Sim’s drawing showcase Nontune and a sound
performance by pansori singer Im Chae-eun exploring diverse vocal textures.
