Alumnus Kim Changhwan Appointed Art Director and Conductor of Gangwon Provincial Gugak Orchestra

Kim Chang-hwan, an alumnus who studied Korean Traditional Music Composition at the School of Korean Traditional Arts, won the position of art director and permanent conductor of the Gangwon Provincial Gugak Orchestra. Kim had been an assistant conductor in the orchestra. The recruitment examination Kim passed with a good result marked a notably high competition rate.

Conductor Kim Chang-hwan won the Composition Award at the 2020 KBS Gugak Awards. He served as a member of the ethnic pop group, “Rock.” Kim also wrote music for the National Gugak Orchestra and the Gangwon Provincial Gugak Orchestra.
