Lee Seyeon of KNIGA Becomes the Youngest Winner of the ClarinetFest 2024

  

Lee Seyeon (age 14), a current student at the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts (KNIGA), won the ClarinetFest 2024 in the High School Solo, a category for participants under 18, organized by the International Clarinet Association (ICA). Lee is the youngest winner of the competition.

 

Based in Ohio, United States, the ICA hosted the event in Dublin, Ireland, from 31 July to 4 August. In this summer festival, thousands of people gather to enjoy the clarinet music each year.

 

Lee Seyeon with 5 other survivors from the heated competition of the preliminary round furthered to the final where Lee earned the youngest winner title.

 

Lee won the Ewha & Kyunghyang Concours, Sungjung Music Competition, and Seoul National University Gwanak Competition. She also obtained the Special Prize at the Osaka International Music Competition. In 2023, Lee gave a clarinet recital for the Prodigy Concert Series organized by the Samsung Foundation of Culture.
