K-Arts & KCCNY’s “Creatives in Motion” Concludes Successfully
From January 14 to
18 at the Korean Cultural Center in New York (KCCNY), the Performance &
Exhibition Center of K-Arts (Director Hong Kiwon) and KCCNY (Executive Director
Kim Cheon-soo) presented “Creatives in Motion” in collaboration. The event, consisting
of 4 concerts, 5 exhibitions, and 2 networking programs, was the first step of
an art-cultural collaboration project between the two institutions.
Notably, some of
the programs were introduced at the ProEx table by the International Society
for the Performing Arts (ISPA). The introduced programs were as follows: Chloe
J. Mun’s piano recital, EleK-Tradition’s “Painting,” Hammer’s “K.R.U.S.H!,” T.O.B
Group’s “Tom and Jerry,” Sanghee’s “Oneroom-Babel,” Minkyeong Kwon’s “Korea
Mutation Creature,” and Hwia Kim’s “Fish Eggs.”
The event expanded
the horizon of K-Arts’s artistic activities by engaging in networking with the audience,
local art school students, and professionals in the related industry at the heart
of arts and culture, New York.
Director Hong
Kiwon said, “This program was invaluable in that our artists were encouraged to
experiment with their own art practices at the same time as they were available
to get feedback from their peers and experts. They have grown and gained
confidence toward the end of the event.”
Beginning with “Creatives
in Motion,” K-Arts and KCCNY seek to establish a long-term cooperation system to
promote and distribute high-quality cultural content by K-Arts.
