K-Arts X KAIST Host 2025 Freshmen AI Video Camp
K-Arts and KAIST welcome their new students with wide open arms through the 2025 K-ARTS X KAIST Freshmen AI Video Camp. The program offers students an opportunity to experience the integration of arts, culture, and cutting-edge science technology.
The program was launched in 2022 according to the MOU on expanding cooperation
in the field of arts and science technology integration between K-Arts and
KAIST. This year’s camp, which already celebrates its 4th
anniversary, takes place on the Seokgwan Campus from February 5 to 12.
A total of 36 newcomers of K-Arts and KAIST are participating in the camp
to develop their creativity and understanding of integrated arts and science
through lectures and workshops on the production of AI content and videos.
As it ranked top in the survey about the “program highly recommended for the
new students,” earning 100% positive responses in the previous year, the camp has
become the representative program of the two schools’ partnership. This year, it
adopts the latest trends in AI technology for the program and evolves into an
integration of video and AI content.
Director Lee Sngmoo of AT Lab (a professor of the School of Film, TV &
Multimedia), who is in charge of organizing and supervising the camp, said, “With
the advancement of spatial computing and AI, integration of arts and science
technology has evolved into a new dimension. We are at a moment where such a phenomenon
calls for the exchange of creative talents even more. I hope various workshop
activities in the camp give our students an idea of voluntary and creative collaboration.”
The K-Arts’s AT Lab is a creative research lab in pursuit of the integration
of science technology, arts and culture, and industry and academia. The AT Lab’s
productions, such as “Scarecrow” and “Rain Fruits,” have been invited to and
gained awards at many world-renowned film festivals, including Sundance and Cannes
XR, and garnered international recognition. Furthermore, in collaboration with
many corporations and research centers, such as LG U+ and TikTok, AT Lab has
been striving to lead the global trend in immersive media and AI content. Recently,
AT Lab was selected as an organizer of the 2024 Global Culture & Technology
Experts Training Program and Content One Campus Building Project under the
auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and Korea Creative
Content Agency (KOCCA). Through these endeavors, AT Lab continues to foster XR
content talents adept at AI on a global scale.
