Faculty of Arts and Liberal Studies Provides 2025 Zero-Education

Zero-Education, a prior education program for prospective students of the academic year 2025, is in session at K-Arts.

Led by Head Professor Jin Whuiyeon of the Faculty of Arts and Liberal Studies, Zero-Education provides a variety of programs for new students of 2025 to learn the basic knowledge of arts as they develop a sense of community by networking with colleagues from different departments and schools.

Zero-Education provides 6 classes from 9:30 A.M. to 6 P.M. for two days from February 12 to 13 on the Seokgwan campus. Guided by the full-time faculty members of the six schools, all classes consist of experiential learning and discussion to encourage students’ active engagement. Those who completed the program can request a selective course credit of 1.

Prof. Kim Soojin of the Department of Musicology lectures on the value, meaning, and role of music by considering music as a medium of communication and expression in “Music and Humanities.” In “Impromptu and Body,” Prof. Yun Sohee, Department of Acting, provides training on improvised body movements to evoke body sensitivity. In “Exploring the 2nd Renaissance of Korean Cinema,” Prof. Ha Seungwoo, Department of Cinema Studies, looks back on the heyday of Korean cinema in film history to seek its potential for the next revival.

Prof. Ahn Duccki of the Department of Dance Performance engages students with energetic rhythmical Korean dance movements in “Awakening Korean Dance In Me.” Through “Make Things Useful” Prof. Kim Kihyun, Department of Design, enables students to develop and realize their creative thinking in real life. Prof. Chae Soojung, Department of Korean Traditional Music, helps students appreciate the aesthetics and value of pansori as a composite art encompassing literature, music, and performance through “Pansori-Filled World!”

On a first come, first served basis, 2025 Zero-Education accepts 50 students, about 10 each from 5 schools, incoming this academic year.
