K-Arts
Held 2025 Matriculation Ceremony
K-Arts hosted a matriculation ceremony for the
academic year 2025,” Call of Arts,” at the Lee O Young Art Center at 11 a.m. on
Friday, February 14.
The event opened with a newly filmed promotional video
of K-Arts, which followed the “journey through creation” by K-Arts artists who were
awakened to “the calls of arts.” The video featured K-Arts artists making
contributions to society after their growth in K-Arts. Students from all six
schools took part in making it.
On the event day, a total 892 students entered the K-Arts,
including 540 undergraduates, 328 graduates, and 24 AMA+ scholarship (Art Major
Asian plus scholarship) recipients. The 7 students from each school who were
admitted with the highest distinction – Kim Yang-ji (School of Music), Jang
Minseo (School of Drama), Yun Jeong-eun (School of Film, TV & Multimedia), Lee
Chae-hee (School of Dance), Cheon Yuhyeon (School of Visual Arts), Jung Wuhyeon
(School of Korean Traditional Arts), and Akcelik Halise Olgu, an AMA+
scholarship recipient (School of Visual Arts) – were granted the K-Arts
President’s Award.
During the commendatory concert, a video clip of
generative music created by Prof. Cho Chunghyean (School of Film, TV &
Multimedia) in collaboration with Art Collider Lab using integrated art and science
technology was streamed in sync with fashionable and modern percussion rhythms delivered
by Prof. Kim Eunhye (School of Music) and the current students of K-Arts.
President Kim Daejin of K-Arts welcomed newcomers with
a speech, saying, “The time of going through and getting over hardship will become
an opportunity to discover your true self. You will learn how to pave the way
in your tireless journey of exploration and effort.” He emphasized, “I wish for
each one of our students to build a universe of their own while networking in
many different fields of arts.”
