Prof. Kim Hyunmi, School of Music, Leads the 2025 Pyeongtaek Chamber Music Festival as Artistic Director
Professor Kim Hyunmi of the Department of Instrumental Music, School of Music, has invited 40 world-class performers to Pyeongtaek as the artistic director of the 2025 Pyeongtaek Chamber Music Festival (PCMF).
This festival features an extensive program encompassing genres from classical to contemporary music, performed on a wide range of instruments that go beyond the standard chamber music ensemble, including violin, viola, cello, piano, marimba, organ, harp, and nylon-string guitar.
The 2025 Pyeongtaek Chamber Music Festival is the first classical chamber music festival in Pyeongtaek and will be held over four consecutive days: June 13 (Fri.), 14 (Sat.), 20 (Fri.), and 21 (Sat.).
Notably, with 40 prominent performers from around the world participating, audience expectations are running high.
The lineup of participating performers who will complete the festival with refined music is as follows: For violin, Kim Hyunmi (professor of School of Music, K-Arts), Lee Sun-kyung (professor of Indiana University Jacobs School of Music), and Kim Dami (professor of the College of Music, Seoul National University(SNU)). For viola, Choi Ensik (dean of the College of Music at SNU), Lee Hanna (professor of Tianjin Julliard School), and Kim Sang-jin (professor of the College of Music at Yeonsei University). For cello, Lee Kangho (professor of the School of Music at K-Arts), Kim Doo-min (professor of the College of Music at SNU). For flute, Lee Yerin (professor of the School of Music at K-Arts). For clarinet, Chae Jaeil (professor of the School of Music at K-Arts). For piano, Oh Yoon-ju (dean of the College of Music, Sungshin Women’s University). For voice, Soprano Hong Haeran (professor of the School of Music, K-Arts). For Marimba, Kim Eunhye (professor of the School of Music, K-Art). For double bass, Park Sang-hyun (principal double bassist of Gwacheon Symphony Orchestra). And soloist Shin Jooheon for classical guitar.
Artistic director and professor Kim Hyunmi said, “This festival will go beyond a classical concert.
