Kim
Ha-yoon, School of Visual Arts, Presents Solo Exhibition as the 4th
Daechi Artist Fellow by KT&G Sangsangmadang
Kim Ha-yoon, a master’s student in the Department of
Fine Arts, School of Visual Arts, is holding a solo exhibition at KT&G
Daechi Gallery as a recipient of the 4th Daechi Artist Fellowship
(DAF) until July 10. The DAF is a program that supports the next generation of visual
artists.
Arranged by KT&G Sangsangmadang, the DAF has promoted
the development of various contemporary art genres and revitalized the domestic
exhibition culture since 2021.
The 4th DAF recruited rising artists with
less than 10 years of career experience this March, with a selection rate of
just 1 in 163.
According to the jury, the balance between artistic
and popular appeal of submissions was particularly emphasized during
deliberation.
Artist Kim Ha-yoon was praised for expanding the
concept of painting by adding artistic imagination to familiar images from everyday
life.
Kim’s exhibition, “Ceremony,” is on display for about
two months and is free of charge.
Kim Jung-yoon, head of the exhibition department of
KT&G’s cultural contribution department, said, “Through the 4th
DAF, we’ve fulfilled our mission to discover an outstanding artist. We will continue
to actively support rising artists through our various exhibition projects.”
