X Jeju National University X Jeju Special Self-Governing Province To Collaborate
Under the MOU
At 2 p.m. on June 19 (Thursday), on the Ara Campus of
Jeju National University, K-Arts, Jeju National University (President Kim
Il-hwan), and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Oh Young-hun) signed
a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to reinforce collaboration in AI content and
reinvigorate the Jeju Learncation program.
The main contents of the MOU are as follows: collaboration
in the fields of arts, culture, and AI content; joint operation of the Learncation
program; development of a social contribution program to address local issues
in Jeju; and more.
Through this MOU, which focuses on integrating AI
technology into the fields of arts and culture, the involved parties anticipate
laying the foundation for cultivating young artists’ creative endeavors while strengthening
their global competence.
Jeju’s Learncation Program is an educational model that
integrates learning experiences with vacation. Featuring Jeju’s nature,
culture, and digital infrastructure, it aims to provide innovative learning
experiences and creative opportunities. Based on the MOU, the program will offer
students course credits through a wide range of authentic Jeju learning
experiences that combine learning, creating, and hands-on activities.
Kim Daejin, President of K-Arts, stated, “The arrival
of the AI era is providing us with new devices and technologies that expand the
spectrum of the arts. We will actively collaborate under the MOU to foster prospective
talents who will open a new dimension of the future with creative ideas and vision.”
Oh Young-hun, Governor of Jeju Special Self-Governing
Province, emphasized, “Jeju will strive to lead industrial models of the upcoming
global content business integrating AI, arts and culture, and education. Jeju
will also advance as an arts and cultural city based on AI technology, associated
with diverse industries such as aerospace, green energy, biotechnology, and
digital content.”
Kim Il-hwan, President of Jeju University, responded, “The
MOU initiated today will mark the starting point for extensive cooperation in
educational curricula, student exchange, and joint cultural events. I would
like to express my gratitude to those who joined this meaningful partnership.”
The three parties will consolidate the details of the MOU
through discussions to achieve tangible results.
