Held Special Performance for 9th President Kim Daejin’s Retirement
Ceremony
At 3 p.m. on
August 25, K-Arts held a special performance, “Call of Arts,” for the
retirement ceremony of its 9th president, Kim Daejin, at the Lee O
Young Art Theater on the Seokgwan campus.
The performance was
prepared to commemorate the retirement of its leader, who has guided K-Arts for
the past four years since 2021, and to express appreciation to those who
supported the school during his term. The ceremony reflected on President Kim
Daejin’s journey as a pianist and educator who has dedicated his life to music,
while also looking back on the path K-Arts has taken and expressing hope for
its future leap forward.
Following the
screening of “The Time We Walked With” and the presentation of a plaque of
appreciation, President Kim took the stage to perform music by Beethoven and
Schubert, conveying a message of the “Call of Arts” through his music. The
performance concluded with a grand finale, drawing a standing ovation from the
audience.
In his farewell
speech, Kim recalled, “The past four years have been an irreplaceable time of
learning and perseverance. I focused on fostering a horizontal learning culture
in the school and guiding K-Arts towards a wider, more open world.” He then
emphasized, “K-Arts is our students’ school. Any changes must come from the
heart of the school. I wish you to stay on track with the call of the arts.”
Kim Daejin, a world-renowned
pianist and educator, has taught many students. During his presidency, he worked
to improve the academic system, expand international exchange opportunities,
and enhance educational environments. The retirement ceremony marked President
Kim’s accomplishments, as K-Arts looked forward to a fresh start.
