KNIGA
Hosts the 16th Regular Concert
The Korea National
Institute for the Gifted in Arts (KNIGA), affiliated with K-Arts, held its 16th
regular concert from December 24 through December 27 at the Lee Kang Sook Hall
on the Seocho Campus.
Under the
direction of Professor Jo Juhyun of the Department of Dance Performance at the
School of Dance, seventy-two performers graced the stage. This included
sixty-eight KNIGA students from Sejong, Tongyeong, and Gwangju branch campuses,
along with four guest performers from K-Arts’s undergraduate program.
The stage came
alive with fourteen works that highlighted the artistic excellence of KNIGA
students from each campus. Three pieces, including Émil Waldteufel’s Skater’s
Waltz, Op. 183, were presented by students from the regional branches, radiating
youthful energy and vibrant movement. Meanwhile, students from the Seoul campus,
joined by guest performers, performed eleven programs, such as “Swan Lake Black
Swan Pas de Deux,” collectively embodying the elegance and depth of classical
ballet.
Founded in 2008, KNIGA is an affiliate of K-Arts dedicated to identifying and nurturing young artistic talents nationwide. Through a structured art education system, the institute supports gifted students and cultivates future artists from an early age, contributing to South Korea’s artistic development at the national level.
