K-Arts Holds 2025 Spring Commencement Ceremony

K-Arts (President Pyeon Jan-wan) hosted its 2025 spring commencement on Tuesday, February 24, at 2 p.m. in the Lee O-young Art Center on the Seokgwan Campus. Under the theme “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life,” the ceremony celebrated the graduates' significant milestone. A total of 575 emerging artists—including 385 undergraduate and 190 graduate degree recipients—received their diplomas and embarked on their professional journeys beyond the campus.

President Pyeon Jang-wan delivered a moving address: “The most beautiful moments in life extend far beyond youth. They are recurring milestones that only those who walk their paths diligently can uncover.” He encouraged the graduates, stating, “May today mark not an ending, but a vibrant new beginning.”

K-Arts will not dictate your choices,” he continued, “but will stand by your side throughout your lives, supporting the value of the decisions you make. We wish you boundless success in this next chapter and a future filled with shining moments.”

Vice Minister Kim Young-su of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism noted: “Congratulations on earning your degrees—the very roots of ‘K-arts’ that are now reaching the global stage. The Ministry will remain your steadfast ally on your artistic paths.”

Kang U-seong, vice president of the alumni association and recipient of the Alumni Association Award, remarked, “In a world fixated on technology, true leaders look to the essence of humanity. May we all become artists who seek answers in the human spirit.

The celebratory performances featured students from the School of Korean Traditional Arts, under the direction of Professor Yoo Young-ju and Professor Yoo Kyung-hwa, who presented Binari (“A Song of Blessing”), followed by geomungo and percussion pieces conveying hope as the graduates step into the wider world.

Six students received Ministry Awards and K-Arts President Awards for their contributions to the institution, while six others were honored with Graduation Honors for academic excellence.
