Lee Sona, an alumna of the School of Korean Traditional Arts at K-Arts, has
been crowned the final winner of TV Chosun’s audition program, Miss Trot 4.
The
final episode aired on March 5, in which Lee claimed first place in the Life
Song mission with her rendition of Patti Kim’s “Love is the Flower of Life” (1984).
In her acceptance speech, she said, “I’m here today entirely because of my
family’s love.” Her mother, who has long been bedridden, traveled from Chuncheon
to attend the final and cheer her on in person.
Lee studied under Lee Yura, the Artistic Director of the Chuncheon Performing Arts Company. During her time at Chuncheon Girls’ Middle School, she placed first in the Gugak(Korean Traditional Vocal) category at the 2004 Gangwon Province Middle and High School Students Comprehensive Arts Competition. She later entered the School of Korean Traditional Arts at K-Arts, where she continued to build her artistry in Gugak performance. In 2019, she earned enthusiastic acclaim for her performance at the Korea Arirang Harmony Festival in Pyeongchang, hosted by Gangwon Domin Ilbo.
