Loire
Violinist Jeong Jueun has been appointed Concertmaster of the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, a celebrated French orchestra founded in 1971 and representing France’s western region.
Among Korean musicians affiliated with the
ensemble, violinist Park Jiyoon and cellist Lee Wonhae previously served as Concertmaster
and Associate Principal, respectively, while oboist Yun Seongyoung currently holds
a principal position in his section.
Jeong first gained international
recognition by winning Second Prize and the Jury Prize at the 2021 Isangyun
Competition, where critics described her performance as “not only beautiful but
superb.” Her international debut took place at the 14th Seoul
International Music Competition in 2018, marking the start of her distinguished
career as a soloist. Since then, she has performed in programs such as the
Kumho Prodigy Concert, the Kumho Young Artist Concert, and with the Gwangju
Symphony Orchestra. Her chamber ensemble, Eden Quartet, made history as the
first Korean group to win Second Prize and the Special Prize for the Best Performance
of a Contemporary Piece at the 2024 Premio Paolo Borciani.
Jeong was selected as a recipient of the 2023
NoodleLovers Emerging Promising Performer Award, earning corporate sponsorship
for her artistic development. After completing her bachelor's degree at K-Arts,
she studied under Professor Ning Feng at the Hanns Eisler School of Music,
graduating with highest distinction. She is currently pursuing concertmaster
studies at the University of Music and Drama Rostock (HMT Rostock) and, in the
first half of 2026, in serving as a guest principal second violinist with the
Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
