Cha Jaemin Receives the 21st Hermès Foundation Missulsang

On March 3, Hermès Korea announced Cha Jaemin (40) as the recipient of the 21st Hermes Foundation Missulsang.

The jury stated, “Cha Jaemin’s work renews the modes of representation through a process of listening and connecting, proposing a new methodology for video creation in our time.”

Cha earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from K-Arts and a Master’s degree from Chelsea College of Arts. His media-based practice focuses on listening to and amplifying the voices of marginalized communities in contemporary society.

Established in 2000 by Hermès Korea, the Hermès Foundation Missulsang supports the Korean contemporary art scene. Since becoming a biennial award in 2016, it has recognized artists with a prize of 30 million KRW along with funding for exhibition and research.

Cha’s solo exhibition will inaugurate the newly opened Atelier Hermès in May 2027.
