Music, Placed First at the Riccardo Zandonai Competition 2026
Kim Jeongyun, a vocal music student at the
School of Music in K-Arts, won the first prize at an international vocal
contest held in South Korea.
At the Riccardo Zandonai International
Competition 2026, held at the Grand Theater of the Icheon Art Hall in Icheon,
South Korea, from April 27 to 29, Kim emerged as the first-prize winner after
fierce competition.
Hosted by Icheon Cultural Foundation and Icheon
City and administered by Musica Riva in Italy, the competition brought together
about 130 vocalists from around the world. Through this achievement, Kim demonstrated
both her artistic talent and the educational excellence of the K-Arts School of
Music.
As the winner, Kim received the prize and prize money, along with an opportunity to advance to the final round of the 32nd Riccardo Zandonai Competition, which will be held in Italy. She will also receive support for airfare and accommodation for the final round and an opportunity to perform at the Concerto Night during the Icheon International Music Festival 2026.
