Kim Jeongyun, School of Music, Placed First at the Riccardo Zandonai Competition 2026

Kim Jeongyun, a vocal music student at the School of Music in K-Arts, won the first prize at an international vocal contest held in South Korea.

At the Riccardo Zandonai International Competition 2026, held at the Grand Theater of the Icheon Art Hall in Icheon, South Korea, from April 27 to 29, Kim emerged as the first-prize winner after fierce competition.

Hosted by Icheon Cultural Foundation and Icheon City and administered by Musica Riva in Italy, the competition brought together about 130 vocalists from around the world. Through this achievement, Kim demonstrated both her artistic talent and the educational excellence of the K-Arts School of Music.

As the winner, Kim received the prize and prize money, along with an opportunity to advance to the final round of the 32nd Riccardo Zandonai Competition, which will be held in Italy. She will also receive support for airfare and accommodation for the final round and an opportunity to perform at the Concerto Night during the Icheon International Music Festival 2026.
