Professor Lee Jihye of
the School of Music to Perform with the Gangnam Symphony Orchestra at Its 116th
Subscription Concert
The Gangnam
Symphony Orchestra, under the Gangnam Foundation for Arts & Culture, will
present its 116th subscription concert at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall on
July 8 at 7:30 p.m. Conducted by Artistic Director David Yi, the concert will
feature Professor Lee Jihye from the K-Arts Department of Instrumental Music as
a guest violinist.
The program will
open with Ralph Vaughan Williams’s Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis,
followed by W.A. Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 in A Major, K. 219,
"Turkish," performed by Professor Lee.
Professor Lee has
garnered top prizes at numerous prestigious international competitions,
including the International Tchaikovsky Competition and the Pablo Sarasate
International Violin Competition. Having previously served as the Principal
Second Violin of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, she currently serves as
the Music Director of the Wald Ensemble and a professor at the K-Arts School of
Music.
The concert will
conclude with Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring. The performance is open to
audiences aged eight and older (elementary school students and above). Tickets
are available via Interpark Ticket and the Seoul Arts Center website, with pricing
as follows: R seats (50,000 KRW), S seats (30,000 KRW), and A seats (20,000
KRW).
