Kim Bong-ryol, the president of the Korea National University of Arts, was newly appointed the 29th chairman of the Cultural Heritage Committee of Korea. 

Kim was elected at the plenary meeting where the appointment ceremony was held at the National Palace Museum of Korea on May 1^st, 2019. Cultural Heritage Committee, inaugurated in 1962, is a consultative body under Cultural Heritage Administration which investigates and deliberates the major agenda related to cultural heritage with respect to designation, cancellation, and change of cultural properties.
