Members of Japan’s Diet Federation for the Promotion of Culture and Arts Visit K-Arts

On August 18, 11 senior members of Japan’s Diet Federation for the Promotion of Culture and Arts visited K-Arts to learn about the university’s approaches to nurturing talent in the arts and culture sectors.

The delegation was led by Matsuno Hirokazu, Chairman of the Diet Federation and a 10-term member of Japan’s House of Representatives, alongside notable figures such as Ukishima Tomoko, Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. The visit focused on studying South Korea's achievements in cultivating artistic talent and exploring active networking between arts professionals in both countries.

K-Arts leadership—including President Pyeon Jangwan, Vice President for Planning Lee Kangmin, and Director General Yoo Byeong-chae—welcomed the guests. During the meeting, they outlined K-Arts' 35-year history, its establishment by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and its unique admission processes, teaching methods, and graduate achievements.

Following the meeting, the delegation toured the campus for about two and a half hours, visiting the Art Theater Building, the Experimental Stage of the School of Drama, the filming studios of the School of Film, TV & Multimedia, a pangut rehearsal by the Department of Korean Traditional Dramatic Performing Arts, and the studios of the School of Visual Arts.
