2026 Fall Commencement Celebrates 220 Graduating Artists on Seokgwan Campus

On August 21, K-Arts celebrated the graduation of 220 emerging artists at the 2026 Fall Commencement ceremony, held at the Lee O-Young Art Theater on the Seokgwan Campus. The graduating class comprised 140 Bachelor of Arts and 80 Master of Arts recipients stepping into the global creative arena.

In his commencement address, K-Arts President Pyeon Jangwan commended the graduates’ dedication: “Today stands as a shining testament to the sleepless nights and relentless passion of our graduates, who pushed beyond their limits.” He continued with encouragement: “On the path ahead—filled with unprecedented challenges and opportunities—do not fear setbacks. Your trials and time invested will serve as vital artistic nourishment, and creative work that blossoms from them will ultimately enrich and illuminate our society.”

The ceremony also recognized outstanding achievements. Special commendations included the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Award presented to Shin Jaewung (Master of Arts, Department of Korean Traditional Dramatic Performing Arts) and the President’s Award presented to Choi Ahyeon (Bachelor of Arts, Department of Instrumental Music). In addition, Valedictorian Honors were awarded to top representatives from the university’s six constituent schools.

The commencement concluded with celebratory performances. Directed by Professors Kim Wonmin and Park Insoo of the School of Korean Traditional Arts, current students delivered an exhilarating pangut performance, wishing the graduating class prosperity and success with dynamic rhythms and festive choreography.
