School of Film, TV &
Multimedia and Canon Korea Hold Equipment Donation Ceremony
The School of Film, TV & Multimedia at K-Arts and Canon Korea Inc. held a special ceremony on September 14 to mark Canon Korea’s generous donation of video production equipment to the university. The event took place in the President’s Office at the Seokgwan Campus.
K-Arts President Jangwan Pyeon, Canon Korea Executive Director Jungwoo Park, and Yongbae Choi, Dean of the School of Film, TV & Multimedia, attended the event. The ceremony served as a meaningful occasion to highlight the significance of the partnership and discuss how the new equipment will elevate student education and creative production.
As a leading provider of imaging solutions and interchangeable-lens cameras, Canon Korea carefully curated the equipment in close consultation with the Department of Filmmaking and the Department of Broadcasting. The donated gear was specifically chosen to meet the practical educational and production needs of each department, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with industry-standard professional tools.
Executive Director Jungwoo Park explained
that Canon Korea arranged the donation to help foster a better educational
environment for aspiring filmmakers and media professionals, encouraging
students to leverage the equipment for high-quality creative productions. In
response, President Pyeon expressed his deep appreciation to Canon Korea,
stating that K-Arts will put the equipment to meaningful use to empower student
learning and artistic exploration.
Canon Korea is the Korean subsidiary of
the Canon Group, a global leader in imaging and office equipment powered by

The School of Film, TV & Multimedia
plans to integrate the donated equipment directly into the curricula of both
the Filmmaking and Broadcasting departments, as well as utilize it for student
film and media projects. This contribution is expected to provide students with
broader access to professional-grade tools, helping them sharpen their
practical skills and elevate the overall quality of their work.
