K-Arts Special Lecture Series

The Lifelong Education Center under the Korea National University of Arts held special lecture series in the first half of 2019. 

 

In this lecture series, Professor Jeon Mi-Sook of School of Dance and former vice minister Kim Yong-hwan of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism participated along with the local residents and members of the school. The various aspects of contemporary dance were examined through seven performances demonstrated by 22 dancers in Professor Jeon Mi-sook’s special lecture titled “The Contemporary Dance that Wakes Me Up” at the auditorium located on the first floor of Daehak-ro Campus at 7 p.m. on May 29th, 2019. This lecture aimed to share the insight of Professor Jeon on contemporary dance by depicting the life of modern people from the unique perspective through the form of lecture-performance. In addition, at the former vice minister Kim Yong-hwan’s special lecture on June 4 at 7 p.m. in Rm 244 on Seocho-dong Campus, a vector which possessed both intensity and direction was discussed on the theme of “Wisdom to Live in the Age of Accelerated Vectors.” Overall, this lecture aimed to think about the relative values rather than absolute values in the age where the boundaries disappear at fast speed in the areas of modern life in various aspects of culture, art and economics to seek for the wisdom need for modern society.
