Wins at the International Ballet Competition Sicilia 2019

The Six Students of School of Dance Win the Prizes in the International Ballet Competition Sicilia 2019

 

 

 

The six students who are currently studying dance at the Korea National University of Arts attained excellent results in the International Ballet Competition Sicilia 2019 which ran from July 10th to July 14th in Modica, Sicilia, Italy. 

 

In Senior Girls division of the competition, Park Ha-min ranked 1st class, and Oh Yubin and Choi Sol-ji both ranked 2nd class. Also, in Senior Boys division, Kim si-jin ranked 1st class, and Jeong Yong-jae and Lee Hyeon-gyu ranked 2nd and 3rd classes respectively. The winners of this competition further won tickets to the final of the International Ballet & Contemporary Dance Competition known as “Domenico Modugno” and received offers from the Thuringer State Ballet (Thüringer Staatsballett) in Germany. Overall, the jury lavished praise on our dancers and commented “The participants from Korea exhibited wonderful artistic techniques. We were especially impressed by the accuracy of the dancers’ choreographies.”
