Professor Kim Yeon-Yong of the School of Visual Arts Takes Charge of Planning the Exhibition The Grey of Jihye

Professor Kim Yeon-Yong planned the exhibition The Grey of Jihye which would be held from June 6th to September 1st, 2019 at White Block Art Center in Paju City.

The Grey of Jihye introduces the works by five artists – Kang Seok-ho, Kim Suyoung, Roh Choonghyun, Sunny Kim, Leeje – which presents the prospect that goes beyond the visualization. From this aspect, the exhibition ultimately explores the practices of contemporary Korean art. Professor Kim comments that the exhibition digs into the chaos, connection with erratic meanings, or sensual solidarity without purpose through different grey colors while the grey is a signifier the artists share to express how they view their world. Professor Kim said that the exhibition would guide the viewers to welcome the world of the abundant grey spectrum by calling attention to aesthetic practices focused on the middle layer which was never captured by verbal thinking.
