Son
Yeol-Eum, Graduate of the School of Music, Holds Piano Recital
Celebrating the new album release playing Schumann, pianist Son
Yeol-Eum, the alumna of the School of Music, takes the nationwide concert tour
in Korea beginning in May.
This concert is the third recital for the first time in four years since 2016. Her concert at Seoul Arts Center on May 13th was canceled due to COVID-19 outbreak, however the others to be held outside Seoul area are still on schedule.
As Son has been mentioning R. Schumann and Mozart as her most “favorite”
composers, the artist’s profound understanding and interpretation of this
repertoire are highly expected. The concert program includes Schumann’s works
written between 1836 and 1839. Son will present Kinderszenen Op.15, very first
classical music piece for children, Kreisleriana Op.16 known to be a very
dramatic work, Fantasie in C Op.17, in which Schumann’s expressed his unrequited
love towards Clara Wieck, and Arabeske Op.18 which Schumann completed after Clara
had accepted his proposal.
