The Partner Cities for Provincial Outreach Program for Gifted in Arts Are Selected

The Partner Cities of K-Arts' Education Program for the Gifted in Arts Are Selected

Sejong City and Tongyeong City are selected as partners of the expanded business for the education of the gifted in arts. This partnership is organized and supported by Korea National University of Arts and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and it aims to discover and nurture the young talents living on the outskirts and out of touch with the benefits of arts education.

The university is going to send off qualified instructors to partner schools and offer them adequate art education in four different areas including music, dance, traditional arts, and convergence arts. Financially, Sejong City and Tongyeong City each will be funded a total of 45 hundred million KRW for five years. The 75 students from elementary, middle, and high schools will be selected from each city, and 10% of a quota will be selected from the group in positive discrimination.

Sejong City is planning to set up an education space customized for this program around Park Yeon Culture Center, and Tongyeong City is planning to refurbish an old dockyard into a space for art education by this July.
