The 8th Youthful Sharing of Creative Theatre Festival, “The Youth Acts for Spring”

The Korea National University of Arts has been promoting the growth of youth theater since 2013 by hosting the Youthful Sharing of Creative Theatre Festival (YSCTF), “The Youth Acts for Spring” and running the related play contest and creative writing workshop. “The 10 min. Demonstration” is the only contest for youth theatre within the country.

It recruits the works that capture and depicts the life of the teen within 10 minutes and gives an insight into the ideal portrait of the teen required in the society of the present time. Anyone at the ages of teen to adult can enter the contest, and the works of three winners will be adapted to story recitals for the “Youth Theatre Festival: Spring, Act” in the coming September.

A workshop “The Boundless Act” is the creative writing project in which the teens work with artists to write the youth drama on their own. The plays written during the workshop will also be put on a special stage at the festival in September. The students at the age of 13 to 17 are eligible to join, and there will be a total of 15 workshops during August and September at the School of Drama building.
