The Korea National Research Center for the Arts Streams Spring Conference Online

The Korea National Research Center for the Arts (KNRCA) affiliated to the K-Arts live-streamed its 2020 spring conference on “Arts and Arts Industry in the Post Corona Era” held on June online.

During the first half of the conference, the experts in the fields of music, drama, and visual arts including professor Lee Seung-gon (Department of Theatre Studies at School of Drama) had discussions on changes in arts after the COVID-19 outbreak and the consequent prospects. In the latter half, the professionals in the industries of film, theater, and visual arts examined the data on situations of art industries before and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chief professor Yang Jung Moo (Department of Design at School of Visual Arts) stated, “The trends in creating, planning, enjoying, and consuming arts have been changed since the COVID-19 pandemic. The social distancing measure has resulted in the emergence of an untact consuming market everywhere, which also either directly or indirectly influenced the arts industries. Overcoming the crisis of arts and arts industries must start from thinking over how we can cope arts with digital-based environments and services and harmonize arts with the society and preventive measures against the pandemic. I look for us, all together, will seek for turning crisis into opportunity at this conference.”
