Professor and Student at School of Music Releases Piano Duo Album

 

Mun Jiyeong and Kim Daejin Release a Duo Album


 

Professor Kim Daejin (School of Music) and his student Mun Jiyeong (Chloe Mun) have released their duo album “Franz Shubert Works for Piano Four-Hands.” It is the first project album since the K-ARTS and a music company the Universal Music Group signed MOU in last December. Mun Jiyeong is currently enrolled in a graduate program after she studied under professor Kim for a bachelor’s degree in music. 

 

Their tracklist comprises the best duo Schubert works. It starts from “Allegro in A minor, D. 947 ‘Lebensstürme’”, one of the most well-known masterpieces he wrote, “Fantasie in F minor, D. 940”, “Grand Rondeau in A major D. 951”, “Grande marche héroïque, D. 885”, and “Sonatine, D. 968: 1. Allegro moderato.” It also includes “Sonatine, D. 968: 2. Andante” became known to the world after Schubert’s passing. 

 

Pianist Mun Jiyeong is the winner of both the 2014 Geneva International Competition in Switzerland and the 2015 Busoni International Competition in Italy. The K-ARTS collaborating with the Universal Music Group is planning to release albums of excellent artists in various formats.
