The K-ARTS Presents the Art Village Project Online and Offline


The Art Village Project sponsored by the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation and hosted by the Korea National University of Arts runs online and offline from August 16th through September 25th, 2020.

 

The Art Village Project comprises of the classical festival and the gugak festival. The 6th Gyechon Village Classical Street Festival (Gyechon Classical Festival) takes place in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do from August 16th to September 4th, and the 6th Dongpyeongje Village Traditional Music Street Festival (Dongpyeongje Traditional Music Festival) is open in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do from September 6th to September 25th.

 

Both festivals are accessible through online and offline. From the opening performances, the two festivals will provide the VODs of classical and traditional music performances through the official festival platform online “Art Village TV.” The opening performances will be available both offline and online. There will be a concert for a limited number of audiences at the festival site. The rest of the audiences will be able to enjoy it through the streaming service on Naver LIVE.

 

The Gyechon Classical Festival will reveal the VODs of performances by the prominent artists during the festival. The lineup includes world-renowned violinists Dami Kim and Lim Ji-young, soprano Kang Hye-jung, and the United Gyechon Junior-Middle School Orchestra: Starlight Orchestra. Besides, the Dongpyeongjae Traditional Music Festival will provide the VODs of gugak performers. The lineup here includes samulnori master Kim Duk-su, haegeum performer Kang Eun-il Haegeum Plus, pansori master Chang Mun-hee, fusion band Uheeska playing gugak and Jamaican music ska, and a gugak ensemble band Soul-jigi.
