The
K-ARTS Runs an Overseas Cultural Partnership Project
The
AMFEK Cultural Partnership Project by the K-Arts is a residential program that
invites professors and experts in arts from ODA recipient countries in Asia,
Latin America, East Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. It supports their
research projects, workshops, or creative activities for three to five months
during their staying in Korea.
This year, four professionals from four different countries – Mongolia, Turkey, Thailand, and Mexico - joined the project.
Professor Oyun-Erdene Togokh of
Huree, a lecturer at the Multimedia Department of the University of Information
and Communication, plans on developing a Mongolian Cyrillic font based on his
study on the development of Korean font design. Professor Simten Demirkol
Toygu, the head of the department of performing arts at Anadolu University in
Turkey, researches the Korean popular culture based on the analysis of the
general Korean culture and Korean idol culture. Pattarasuda Anuman Rajadhon
from Thailand is a lecturer who teaches theatrical studies at Chulalongkorn
University and Silpakorn University. For this project, she focuses on theoretically
structuring a monodrama and developing one in response to the emergence of New
Normal after the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. Ms. Ana Jimenez, a
public relations official in the Cancun government in Mexico, studies how to
revitalize the local government’s cultural policies using performing arts.
