K-Arts Signs Quadrilateral Agreement with Provincial Governments to Support Young-aged Prodigies in Art

K-Arts signed the MOU to nurture gifted in arts in provincial area with Gyeongnam Provincial Government, Gyeongnam Provincial Office of Education, and Tongyeong city. The MOU agrees on discovering and nurturing the local gifted in arts.

The K-Arts began proceeding with this MOU last April after it decided on building an additional campus in Gyeongnam (Tongyeong) to expand the business of gifted in arts to areas outside of Seoul. As the Korean government raises the Coronavirus social distancing measure to Level 2.5, they concluded the MOU by letter. The Gyeongnam (Tongyeong) campus of the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts (KNIGA) will locate in the Shina SB annex building in Tongyeong. The building will get remodeled to a customized educational space for each field of study. Then the campus will open around next April. The K-Arts recruited excellent students from Gyeongsang last May.

From last September to December, the university executed a test operation of educating four areas of studies – music, dance, Korean traditional arts, and convergence art – at a temporary institution offered by the Tongyeong International Music Foundation. The MOU agrees on cooperation and support of the expanded business of the gifted in arts and mutual exchange of art-cultural information between partner institutions. It also includes making joint efforts to promote arts and culture in related industries. The four partner institutions plan to fully cooperate to support the young talented students from Gyeongsang to grow up as artists at a national level.
