Prof. Yeun-ok Ko Presents a Creative Opera, "Arriving on the Waters like the Moon"

Professor Yeun-ok Ko, who teaches playwriting in the School of Drama, presented her creative opera, "Arriving on the waters like the Moon" at the Korean Small Theater Opera Festival in Seoul Arts Center from 8 to 13 April. The opera “Arriving on the Waters like the Moon,” one of the creative opera pieces selected for this festival, is an adaptation of the theatrical work performed in Korea and Japan in 2008 with a same title. Professor Ko dramatized the original work into the opera, and composer Uzong Choe wrote the score.

Bringing motifs from the Cinderella complex and a murder case, it is a thriller that focuses on human psychology over objective matter. It garnered praise when it showcased the premiere with the Seoul Metropolitan Opera in 2014.
