Traditional Arts Presents “Korean Traditional Circus 2021: Youthful Folk Play”
On Saturday, 15 May 21, Hannuri Dance Company topped off the “Korean Traditional Circus 2021: Youthful Folk Play” with its last performance. The members of Hannuri Dance Company are composed of graduates from the School of Korean Traditional Arts in K-Arts.
On the theme of “Samdo Nongak (literally meaning, “nongak rhythms from three provinces”) – Rhythms for the Everyday Life,” Hannuri Dance Company delivered aesthetics and excitement of nongak from provinces of Gyeonggi, Gyeongsang, and Jeolla. The event took place at a performance hall in Eolssumaru, National Intangible Heritage Center.
It also provided digital pre-reservation and
live-streaming on Naver TV services as a COVID-19 prevention measure. Since
1998, Hannuri Dance Company has strived to popularize and globalize the Korean
circus while developing a new repertoire for traditional theatres.
