K-Arts & Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation Present “The Middle of Summer,” the Third Episode of Korea's Great Artist Series
From Saturday, 12 June 21 through Sunday, 13 June 21, the Korea
National University of Arts Industry Academy Cooperation Foundation with
Hyundai Chung Mong-Koo Foundation presents “The Middle of Summer” at CJ Towol
Theater in Seoul Arts Center. “The Middle of Summer” is a performance on the
artistic life of Korean traditional dance master Kim Mae Ja. For this musical,
professor Lee Dong-yeun of the School of Korean Traditional Arts wrote the
script, and choreographer Lee Jaehwan directed the stage. Kim Mae Ja and the
twenty members of her Chang Mu Dance Company crew will perform. The performance
is a part of the Art Village Project of great artist series organized by Chung
Mong-Koo Foundation and hosted by the K-ARTS Industry Academy Cooperation
Foundation. It is their third project together, after the first musical “Two
Loves” by pansori master Ahn Sook Sun (former professor of the School of Korean
Traditional Arts) in 2019 and the second musical “Kim Duk-soo” by pansori
master Kim Duk-soo (ex-professor of the School of Korean Traditional Arts) in
2020.
