11 Students Win at Dong-A Korean Traditional Music Competition in All Sectors.

  11 Students of School of Korean Traditional Arts Win Big at Dong-A Korean Traditional Music Competition in All Sectors.

 

  

Including five Gold Prizes in pansori, geomungo, daegeum, piri, and haegeum, eleven of our current and graduate students of the School of Korean Traditional Arts won awards at the 37th Dong-A Korean Traditional Music Competition held from June 6th to July 1st. While Dong-A Ilbo organized the contest and Seoul National University of Education, Joeng Hyo Gugak Cultural Foundation, Dong-A Dream Foundation, and Lotte Group sponsored it. The event took place at the Jeong Hyo Art Center and the Concert Hall in Seoul Nationl University of Education. Including the Gold Prize winners, eight from senior division and four from junior division, and a total of forty candidates among seventy-five finalists won prizes.

 

Yang Hye-won and Kim Borim each won the Gold and Silver Prizes in the general division of pansori. Also, Kim Minseo and Kim Minseo earned the Gold and Silver Prizes in the general division of geomungo, respectively. Kim Si-heon and Park Sae-han acquired Gold and Bronze Prizes in the general division of piri, and Yoo Soobin won the Gold Prize in the general division of daegeum. Go Hyeon-seo won the Gold Prize in the general division of haegeum likewise. Overall, five Gold Prize winners came out from our current and graduate students. Additionally, Han Jina won the Silver Prize in the general division of music composition. Lim Jeong-wan and Lee Bo-kyeong each won the Silver and Bronze Prizes in the general division of gayageum, and Kim Sihwa won the Silver Prize in the minyo folk song with gayageum instrumental solo.
