Violist Lim Saemin Becomes the Grand Prize Winner of the 30^th Sungjung Music Concours

Violist Lim Saemin seized the Sungjung Grand Prize (Prize by the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism’) at the 30th Sungjung Music Concours held in the Suwon SK Artium on 16 Sept. 21 (Thurs.) In the Winner Concert, the first prize winners of six sections in Sungjung Music Concours perform with the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra to compete for the following awards: Sungjung Grand Prize, Suwon Music Prize (granted by the mayor of Suwon), Sungjung Music Prize (special prize for the vocal), Performance Prize (awarded by the contest organizer).

Besides, Suwon Music Prize and Sungjung Music Prize went towards tenor Park Jihoon, majoring in Vocal Music in the School of Music.

Violist Lim Saemin’s performance received praise for “its excellence in articulating the vibrancy of the violin and the solemnity of the viola.” At the award acceptance speech, Lim said, “I will strive to be a more mature performer who plays for the audience from the heart.”
