K-Arts Hosts “A Special Encounter with the President 2022” to Celebrate the 42nd National Disabled Day

On Wednesday, 20 April, on the Seokgwan-dong campus, the K-Arts opened the “A Special Encounter with the President 2022” and invited the disabled students in school and their parents to celebrate the 42nd National Disabled Day. Kim Yeji, a member of the national assembly from the People Power Party and a pianist with visually impairment herself, dignified the event with her presence.

President Kim Daejin of the K-Arts stated, “I hope our students get to know each other better despite difficulties here in K-Arts.” A parent who attended the event said, “I’m thankful to K-Arts for putting a lot of effort into helping the students with disabilities. At the same time, I’d like to ask you to improve the accessibility of taking non-face-to-face classes and on-campus mobility for disabled students.” The K-Arts Support Center for the Disabled Students provides the education welfare for the disabled students by various means such as support on campus, periodic meetings, and scholarship assistance.

Besides, the K-Arts annually runs a campaign to improve the awareness of disabled students in school. For a new project, we also support the production of an “on-campus barrier-free map” and run a mentorship program for the new disabled students to enable them to adapt to campus life.
