The Seoul Dance

the advancement of dance in Korea and presents the audience the dances across
all genres such as ballet, traditional, modern, and contemporary dances. It is,
furthermore, wide open to the general public in addition to professional dancers.
In the competition
section, Prof. Ahn garnered praise and owned the glory of winning the Grand
Prize with his “The Ocean Is, To Me” choreographed by the Ahn Duck-ki Movement
Research Lab. Prof. Ahn noted, “I choreographed the piece from the rising question
and curiosity about what the ocean is, what it means to us. It alludes to the
contrasting nature of the ocean, such as its dangerousness and fearfulness at
the same time as productivity and sensitivity.”
